The WCNI provides many opportunities for weimaraner owners and sporting dog enthusiasts to learn about, train for, and compete in many of the different types of field oriented events sanctioned by both the AKC and the WCA. These opportunities include field fun days, training days, AKC hunt tests, AKC field trials, as well as WCA shooting and retrieving ratings. The club also is lucky to have within its membership people of all levels of experience with these events. Whether you are just starting out or are an accomplished competitor you will find the WCNI has something to offer you.
Below is a short list of field related activities outside the bounds of just hunting that you can do with a weimaraner! More and more people are looking for an outlet to let their weimaraner perform activities that they were bred to excel at. Others are looking for things to do to help keep their hunting dog sharp outside of the season. While still others just enjoy the camaraderie and friendships that can be had by doing things with other sporting dog (and especially weimaraner) enthusiasts! Please feel welcome to contact us or attend one of our fun days to learn more!
