Keen noses allow weimaraners to excel in any scent related activity. Tracking is the very essence of this ability. Some might even go so far as to say that tracking with a weimaraner is like cheating compared to other breeds! Puppies as young as 12 weeks can begin to learn the basics of tracking and often quickly become quite proficient at it. The WCNI offers several opportunities throughout the year for members to learn more about tracking and test for the various titles the AKC offers for tracking. Our membership has handlers and dogs of all ability levels in the tracking realm. Chances are whether you are just starting out or you are working to pass a TDX or VST test the WCNI has something to offer!
